Dr. Dre Drops New Detox Teaser Clip Featuring Eminem, Fans React

Is Dr. Dre’s Detox album coming soon? If not, a new teaser track will surely satiate some fans for now.

Dre’s final album has been talked about for years with two official singles dropping so far in “Kush” featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon and “I Need A Doctor” with Eminem and Skylar Grey serving as co-stars. The good doctor's latest track from his third studio opus, “Die Hard,” premiered last night (May 6) during cable network Showtime’s documentary pre-fight series finale Fight Camp 360° featuring sluggers Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao and “Sugar” Shane Mosley – who both battle it out tonight (May 7) for Pac-Man’s WBO World Welterweight title.

With the visuals of the fighters training hard on the show during the song’s big reveal, Dre sounds rejuvenated and hungry – even teasing in his bars he may continue beyond his much ballyhooed retirement from recording. “My life is like a highlight reel/Some might consider this my twilight but depending how I might feel/I might continue on with my career for 5 light years,” raps a confident sounding Dre. Em delivers a fitting and boisterous chorus with, “I sit into the wee hours of the night, then we don't stop until the sunlight/ We just keep going 'cause the die-hard won't go down without a fight.”

Fans reacted in droves to the audio clip around the Web with a lot of fans in support of the aggressive Dre banger with a few requisite detractors. A commenter on website Rap Radar said, "I [thought] we would get the full song [tonight], but this snippet is straight fire !” while another enthusiastic fan added, “This is kinda dope. You got lyricism, a memorable hook and a beat that makes you want to work out. It’s gonna be a hit.”

Twitter fans also chimed in with kind words. “Dre and Em have a musical chemistry unrivaled in present day hip hop. These leaks make me optimistic about Detox again,” tweeted @KarmaSerene. Fan @MIA_Tony_17 could barely contain his glee with, “sooooo anybody know if and where the full version of "dr. dre ft eminem - die hard" can be be found? Song is too sick must have it now!” However, not everyone was as enthused about the track. “New Dr Dre's Die Hard ft Eminem is another Masterpiece of s--t! Well done! #Detox,” tweeted @dadounet91.
