Drake Lashes Out At Record Label Over Leaked Tracks

Universal Records, this one's for you. Young Money rapper Drake is not happy with his parent label Universal who apparently sent their wolves out to put a cease and desist on a pair of Drizzy records that's been the talk of the Internet these past few weeks. The much hyped "Marvins Room" and "Trust Issues" are just two tracks to name that Drake is complaining have been swept off the digital space at the direction of Universal and he's not happy about it.

"Universal needs to stop taking my f--king songs down" Drake angrily tweeted. "I am doing this for the people not for your label."

Drake is stirring up serious interest in his upcoming sophomore effort Take Care with the rapper leaking a new track “Trust Issues” on his blog, now burning it's way throughout the blogosphere. Shifting seamlessly between slow jam crooning and animated double-time rap verses, Drizzy has once again tapped in to the sound heavily present on his star-making mixtape So Far Gone and the R&B-tinged track is sonically similar to "Marvins Room" which the rapper leaked two weeks ago.

"Marvins Room" is another signature take on Drake’s sing-rap style with atmospheric production, light drums and subtle keyboard work. Reminiscent of some of the slower jams from his popular mixtape So Far Gone and his debut LP, Drake continues in the vein of a tortured lover on the emotionally charged track. The song finds Drake playing the role of line stepper as he pines for a taken woman all while trying to gain her affections. Upon the song’s release this morning, the track has spread throughout the Web with fans commenting in droves.

Drake also announced in the blog posting that the single will be available for purchase in July and that his album Take Care will see release on October 24, which also happens to be Drake’s birthday.

Drake Will Use Memorial Day Weekend As 'Research' For Take Care

Tags: MTV Shows

All work and no play makes Drake a dull boy. We've all heard that Drizzy has been putting the finishing touches on his sophmore album Take Care, but the Young Money rapper told MTV News that this weekend he will be partying and using the holiday to see how his upcoming LP will work in a club setting.

"So this is my first Memorial weekend really particpating this heavily," Drizzy said from the set of DJ Khaled's "I'm On One" video shoot in Miami. "I just want to get out there and touch the people, slap everybody's hand, see the women; just let them know im out here. Let them see me, because they havent seen me in a while."

It isn't all work however. Drake hints that will be observing the crowds and using his expirence to fine tune his album. "And I got this album coming it's called Take Care, so I just really want to get out here and check the climate. I wanna hear the records, see how everybody's moving, see what everybody's lovin', because I know I got a great body of work," he said. "I'm ready to give it away, I'm using this weekend as study research. I'll be getting as drunk as I can trying to fit in, doin' it like that."

On Friday Night (May 28), Drake, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled wrapped the video for "I'm On One" and later that evening Weezy and his Young Money protege went to the famed King of Diamonds strip club in Miami. Drake says next he will be heading to Vegas for a pool party.

Drake, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross And DJ Khaled Shoot 'I'm On One' In Miami

Yesterday evening rap powerhouse MCs Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Drake joined DJ Khaled for the visuals to his soon to be summer smash "I'm On One" in Miami. The Gil Green clip, also co-directed by Young Money artist Drake was shot on a blocked off strip in downtown Miami on Flagler street. YMCMB executive/artists Birdman and Mack Maine make cameo appearances in the video as well. According to Drizzy, the concept for the video game from the genius mind of the Canadian sensation. The video is just the first of many Hip-Hop events expected to flood the South Beach area for the holiday weekend.

The video comes just a week after Drake dismissed reports that he sent a few subliminal shots at Jay-Z on the record. In addition to lines on "I'm On One," another song leaked from Drake titled "Dreams Money Can Buy" led some to believe Drizzy was going after Hov.

“And I feel like lately I went from top five to remaining five/My favorite rappers either lost it or they ain’t alive” Drake raps on "Dreams."

“Hov diss? Hov of all people has not lost it...that’s god body flow” Drake tweeted clearing up the rumors.

Although YM captain Lil Wayne may feel differently going at Jay-Z on wax following the god MC's "Baby money" line, Drake has steered clear of any potential rivalry with the titanic rapper.
